SNL and Cheesesteak

October 20, 2013-October 21, 2013 – I was watching the next new episode of SNL. Stephen Colbert was hosting. The opening sketch was a press conference about Malala Yousafzai and her return to Pakistan or her return to school or something like that. During the monologue, Stephen was calling out several women whose names had been bandied about as possible hosts for this episode and who were also in the audience. They shouted out in response. At the end of the monologue, they had joined him on stage. They included Amy Poehler (whose cleavage looked bigger than usual) and a famous Asian politician who I think had helped out Malala (possibly Aung San Suu Kyi). I was eating a cheesesteak and fries at my desk in my bedroom. My mom got home. My brother and sister were downstairs. I wondered if I should go down and eat dinner with them instead of eating up here.

October 18, 2013-October 19, 2013 – The power went out in the house. I was in my bedroom, probably reading. Mom went downstairs to check the fuse box in Dad’s office. It looked like there was a main fuse out on the top left. Mom was trying to put that one back on. Dad was providing her guidance from upstairs.

A Kitchen Case of Emotion

October 15, 2013-October 16, 2013 – I was in my kitchen at home. A friend of mine came up to my front door. I tried to hide because I was really busy right now and couldn’t afford to be distracted. But she still came in, and then she turned into a man. Later I was in the kitchen by myself again. A second friend came up to the door. I hid again, but she also came in. Then she turned into the first friend, but an unfriendly version. This kept happening over and over. I tried hiding sooner and lower. But still they kept coming in. One time when the first friend was there, I locked one of the doors before she had a chance to come in and then I ran off to the kitchen. She started crying, and then she said through her tears that she needed to come in. Later, the second friend was at the door while it was still locked. She tried to get in for a bit. There were several cars in the driveway, for a family party. I saw them starting to back out.

Guitar Hero, or Whatever

March 22, 2013-March 23, 2013 – I was getting set up to play Guitar Hero with my friend Walt.  I gave him the GH guitar controller, which we were quickly reminded wasn’t working.  In fact, there seemed to be only one guitar that was working.  We tried to figure something out to make a second one work.

Prisoners 1 1/2

December 12, 2013-December 13, 2013 – I was seeing the movie Prisoners with a couple of friends at the Regal E-Walk theatre in Times Square, or sort of at that theatre.  The very end was different, like more drawn out, than the first time we saw it.  We were standing around in the lobby.  It was bigger than before, with multiple levels.  And it was quite busy, especially considering it was a weekday.  We met up with a couple other friends who happened to be there seeing something else.  I went back into to the theatre at the end of the credits.  There was another scene.  Hugh Jackman was tapping against the well.  There was no way Jake Gyllenhaal couldn’t hear him at this point.  He looked into the well.  It was ridiculously deep.  I thought they were making it too obvious that Hugh Jackman was probably going to be saved.

…And Starring ‘Life of Pi’ as Themselves

January 8, 2013-January 9, 2013 – I was just finishing watching something in the living room.  It was about 12:20 AM; NBC was rerunning the Louis C.K. SNL episode.  I figured I’d catch some of it.  The musical guest was “Life of Pi” (it was the Lincoln/Life of Pi episode).  I turned it on and saw a close-up of a tiger on stage at the end of a musical performance.  Then I started rewinding to get to the Lincoln sketch.  Then I thought I’d stop at Weekend Update to catch Louie’s performance as “The Guy You Talked to at a Party.”  As I was rewinding, I saw a head peaking up outside the window.  He was the guy I had seen earlier.  I tried to get up and throw something at him as I yelled, “Get the fuck-“

Muppets Up

January 3, 2013-January 4, 2013 – I was selling movie theatre tickets, but I wasn’t in a box office.  I was tucked away in a corner of a lobby.  The guy I was helping was thinking about going to the new Muppets movie, but he wasn’t sure.  He reminisced about seeing Knocked Up when he was 12.  I did the math and realized that would make him 18 now (he looked more like 30).  He rattled off a few other movies that were playing right now.  He eventually settled on one of them.  Then a woman who looked like she was about 40 or 50, with curly auburn hair, came over and said that she was going to “Cabaco.”

December 17, 2013-December 18, 2013 – I was at a party.  A couple of cops showed up and started giving people citations for underage drinking or something.  I hadn’t been drinking, I’d just been watching.  I was going to try to explain that to them.  Ultimately, though, they were called away by something else, so I didn’t have to worry about it.

Weird DVR

December 16, 2013-December 17, 2013 – I was going through the DVR at home.  When I brought it up, it was only displaying three shows at a time.  It had a solid black background and took up the whole screen.  I scrolled over to the next set of shows.  Eventually it was displaying more shows at one time.

Best Laid Plans

August 18, 2013-August 19, 2013 – I was with my family at the beach, including my aunt and cousin.  We were getting ready to go see a movie.  We were watching TV right now, and then we were outside, getting into the car.  Then we were back at the TV, but still planning on going to see the movie.
