Archive for July, 2010

July 24, 2010-July 25, 2010 – I was talking to Dad about Hamlet.  It was dinnertime.  We were eating out in the family room.  We hadn’t sat down just yet; instead, we were walking around while talking.  I was saying that you could look at Hamlet plotwise in terms of a visitor from Norway coming to see what is happening in Denmark.  But that is not how the play is presented.  Instead,  nothing really happens, except for Hamlet thinking and talking.  Dad seemed to agree with what I was saying.  My point was basically that Hamlet manages to be really meaningful with basically nothing happening and that there could have been even more going on.  I grabbed some ravioli from the kitchen and took them out to the family room.  As I sat down, one raviolo got loose and trickled down on the table to where Nanny Claire was sitting.  I got up and grabbed it.  Then I told Nanny that she could have it.  Meanwhile, Aunt Peg had arrived and walked into the family room.  I think Nanny eventually accepted the raviolo.

January 25, 2010-January 26, 2010 – I was outside with some people on some journey that we were now returning from.  We were headed to Nanny Claire’s house.  There was some new show being performed there.  When I got to the house, I found out that John Goodman had an important role as a villain.  I had to go to the bathroom.  It was in the same spot basically, but I couldn’t go through the bathroom door.  Instead the toilet was right outside the door, in the kitchen.  There was a wall to my left in the kitchen but nothing to my right by the dining room.  Meanwhile, Dad was worried he had left behind some girl that he was supposed to be looking after.  Aunt Nancy pointed out that that this girl, or some girl, was here, sleeping on the couch.  There was a wall or something in the middle of the family room that made it so that we weren’t able to see her at first.  This girl was Lindsay Lohan, who I don’t think was the girl Dad was looking after.  But everything felt resolved.  I had to go to the bathroom again.  I noticed more this time than I did the first time how much privacy I didn’t have.

Chris Farley, My Co-Anchor

February 2, 2005-February 3, 2005 – I was doing the morning TV announcements at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School.  It was my first day.  Chris Farley was also on: he introduced me.  I was reading my announcements from index cards.  First, I read that the school play – Godspell – was being performed this weekend, but then either someone told me that it wasn’t, or I saw that it wasn’t.  So I said to ignore this announcement, and I was upset that the play was cancelled.

This may just be the greatest dream I have ever had:

May 17, 2006-May 18, 2006 – Bruce Campbell was my Theology teacher, and his classroom looked very much like Mrs. Cargan’s (my actual theology teacher from my senior year of high school).  He was sitting at his desk in the back of the room, singing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song.  When he finished, an anvil fell on his head.
