Feminist Frequency

April 23, 2016-April 24, 2016 – I was watching a show in the living room that had a feminist message. A few others were also sitting around.

September 14, 2016-September 15, 2016 – I was considering a series of movie posters that were going up on the side of a building. I was considering whether each poster made it okay to say the n-word, not okay to say the n-word, or a third option. It was a civil, effective conversation. Then I was sitting on a bench by the poster case. A few people walked by.

September 7-September 8, 2016 – I was seeing a movie that was about 2 and a half hours long. Later, I was watching a new Batman movie in the same theatre. It was a theatre I had never been to before. It was probably in Brooklyn, but it also had a suburban feel. The movie was 2 hours and 10 minutes, a little short for a Batman flick. The movie ended, the lights came up completely, and we started filing out. I took a side exit. There were a couple of middle-aged women gabbing with each other. It was the middle of the afternoon. I went to the bathroom. There was a long line.

September 11, 2016-September 12, 2016 – I was on a spaceship with Team Arrow. They were fighting some warriors in space. The warriors were dressed in some sort of metallic samurai armor. Most of them had been vanquished, but there were still a few remaining. I was taking care of making turkey and cheese sandwiches. One of the remaining warriors arrived on our ship. He started to walk towards Laurel. I yelled to get her attention, but she didn’t notice. He stabbed her in the side with his sword. Then Thea dispatched him. I rolled Laurel over and pulled the sword out from where it had gone in. She went and sat back down at the table. Her dad was here. I was thinking we needed to get her to the emergency room, but nobody else was acting urgently. Eventually I realized she was stabbed in a spot in which she wouldn’t lose that much blood. I got back to making more sandwiches. We were out of turkey. I opened up the back of the ship to see if there was any there. There wasn’t, but there were some cheese packets. I grabbed those. I wondered how we were able to have the door to space open and not be affected by it. I could see Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle sitting and eating together. I realized that they were back down on Earth. Then we were all gathered where those three were. Malcolm Merlyn showed up and got into a conversation with Felicity in front of everyone.

August 25, 2016-August 26, 2016 – I was watching the first episode of a new season of a new Tim and Eric show. Tim was playing a character who was in a house that was the site of a break-in. Later, he was with a girl, on top of a hill overlooking the house. The authorities had arrived and had the place surrounded. I was looking at the ratings for this season’s episodes on Rotten Tomatoes. It looked like the first episode was at 100%, and the second episode was just below that. Then I looked closer and realized that it was the other way around. There were no reviews for the third episode and beyond.

August 29, 2016-August 30, 2016 – I was watching a 400m track race. It was either a replay, or I had recorded it. The announcers were hyping it as a really great race. There were three Jamaicans, arranged in every other lane. Usain Bolt was in 7 and Wayde van Niekerk was in 6. I couldn’t see Bolt on the final turn, but then there he was. He and van Niekerk were neck-and-neck on the final straightaway. van Niekerk leaned with about 10m left, which I think gave him the win. I said to myself, “Wouldn’t it be wild if Bolt wins the 100, 200, and 400?”
