January 12, 2016-January 13, 2016 – I was watching the last game of a special Jeopardy! tournament. The contestants were Alex Jacob, Matt Jackson, and Brennan Bushee. Alex managed to pull the win off again. So as good as Matt was, he still hadn’t beaten Alex.

Speed It Up!

November 23, 2015-November 24, 2015 – I was watching the latest Jeopardy! episode in the living room. Colby Burnett was one of the contestants. They only got through one category by the first commercial break. Alex made some comment about how slowly they were playing. I ran up to my bedroom to take care of something quick. I wondered if I would be done by the end of the break of if I should have hit stop on the DVR.

November 17, 2015-November 18, 2015 – I was watching the final of the Tournament of Champions. Matt was on the right, Kerry was in the middle, and Alex was on the left. Alex (Trebek) was going through a long-winded introduction. It cut back to the contestants. Kerry and Alex had switched places. Alex’s outfit looked slightly different.

September 4, 2015-September 5, 2015 – I was called and told that I had been selected for Jeopardy! The very next day, I was at the studio. I wasn’t told that my first episode was going to be right now. There seemed a possibility that they were only going to run through some training, but here I was at the studio. There were two co-winners from the last game. I thought one of them was the returning champ, but when they introduced them, I saw that nope, it was the two challengers. My podium was on the right, where the returning champ would normally be. I wanted to have time to really study, but I would do my best where I was now. Alex was conferring with someone, probably a producer. I was feeling really excited right now. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to calm down as much as I wanted to. I thought about training my buzzer timing.

February 17, 2012-February 18, 2012 – I saw Final Jeopardy, and I knew the correct answer, so I had to rush home so that I could submit my answer.  It was still the first round of the teachers tournament.  There were three lady contestants on today.  I was controlling the one on (viewer) right.  She was tied for second with $8600.   The one in first had about $9000.  Since I was confident with Final, I decided that we should bet most of what we had to get a good qualifying score, but to leave $400 or $800 so that we wouldn’t have zero in the chance that we got it wrong.  The clue for Final said something about “these two shows that both air on Thursday that have a female lead,” and I knew that they were going for The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle.  I raced home from a few streets away.  The think music was winding down as I got in and started writing down my answer.  I didn’t manage to write it all out before the music ended, and in my haste I had also made some spelling errors.  I finished writing it out anyway.  As Alex looked over the answers, it didn’t look like they were going to accept it.  I was also realizing that answering Final Jeopardy in this manner probably wasn’t going to actually get me on Jeopardy!
